Gapu Ŋupan (Chasing the Rainbow) is a powerful and joyous new First Nations commission featuring song, dance, atmospheric sound design, and large-scale visuals. Created over five years of cross-cultural collaboration, it showcases extraordinary Yolŋu, Paiwan, and Amis artists from NorthEast Arnhem Land and Taiwan. The performance aims to rekindle ancient ancestral connections and imagines a stronger, First Nations-led future, resonating with pride in culture and deep nourishment in spirit and connection. The event runs from February 27 to March 1, 2025, with performances each evening from 7 PM to 8 PM at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
