Sound for Change by Jess Miller, Sarah Mackenzie

Sound for Change is a single-day event featuring live music, art, and community connection to raise awareness for family and domestic violence prevention during Family and Domestic Violence Prevention Month. Headline singer-songwriter EEMA performs with the exclusive premiere of her 'Misunderstood' music video and previews of unreleased tracks from her upcoming EP, supported by acts like Lazarette, Czarina, Safya, Jonny Turner, Shannon Jade, and Markoe. The program includes an art exhibition by Mukisa, guest speakers such as Jenny Davidson (CEO of CSMC) and a psychologist from Q Psychology, a DJ set by DJ Phunkee, and hosting by Emcee Amy Leong. Held on 16 May 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Artful Yoga Gallery in St Kilda, the alcohol-free, trauma-informed afternoon offers resources from 1800RESPECT and donates a portion of ticket sales to the Council of Single Mothers and their Children. A portion of proceeds supports this 50-year organization aiding single mothers and children facing domestic violence and hardship.
