Olives to Oil by Nick Keogh

Olives to Oil is an annual community event organized by CERES, where participants drop off freshly harvested olives to be communally pressed into local olive oil. The Northside Brunswick East drop-off takes place on Sunday, 3 May 2026, from 11:00 to 15:00 at CERES Community Environment Park. Tickets are required, with free options for small quantities (up to 20kg) for residents of participating councils (Merri-Bek, Darebin, Whittlesea) and paid tickets for larger amounts or out-of-area participants starting at $15. Participants must collect their oil on 12 July 2026 at CERES Fair Food Warehouse in Preston, or it will be donated. The event promotes sustainable local food production and has grown in popularity, with 10% of oil retained by CERES to support the program.
