Sporting Memories is a recurring community program designed for older adults aged 50+, including those living with dementia and their carers, using sport as a starting point for conversation, reminiscence, quizzes, and activities. Held every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 at Holdfast Bay Community Centre, the sessions foster connection and reduce social isolation in a supportive environment. No prior sporting knowledge is required, making it accessible to all interested in sharing stories and making new friends. Bookings are preferred via Eventbrite, with drop-ins welcome, and the program excludes school and public holidays. Delivered in partnership with Sporting Memories Network, Preventive Health SA, and Holdfast Bay Wellbeing Hub.
