Rites of Dance Five Year Anniversary Boiler Room Experience by Tugun Village Community Centre

Rites of Dance celebrates its five-year anniversary with a special Boiler Room-style experience at Tugun Village Community Centre on April 25, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The event features DJ Mark Sankhara and live drummer Gareth Cohen in the center of the dancefloor, delivering bass-heavy electronic music, tribal rhythms, and a two-hour main set following an opening ceremony with karakia and haka. Opening DJ set by A.J Selector and closing live performance by Julie Hayes bookend the sober, intentional dance journey that emphasizes movement, connection, and personal expression without drugs or alcohol. Evolving from small gatherings in 2018 through 75 events since 2021, this anniversary highlights upgraded sound by Josh Lovegrove and a community hub for sharing. No prior experience is needed, though it's not suitable for children.
