Jaco Quintet Playing the Music of Jaco Pastorius by JMI Live

The Jaco Quintet performs the music of legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius at JMI Live in Brisbane on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This single-day jazz fusion event honors Pastorius's revolutionary contributions, including collaborations with Pat Metheny, Weather Report, and Joni Mitchell. Featuring David Galea on electric bass, David Spicer on piano, Toby Wren on guitar, Ben Byrne on saxophones, and Joseph Marchisella on drums, the ensemble delivers fresh interpretations of iconic compositions. Recently highlighted at the Inverloch Jazz Festival, the performance takes place in an intimate, New York-style jazz club setting with excellent acoustics. All ages welcome with under-18s accompanied by a guardian; licensed bar available.
