Exhibition Launch Dismantle Assemble by Yabun, Koori Radio 93.7FM

The Exhibition Launch: Dismantle / Assemble at Verge Gallery marks the opening of a contemporary art exhibition featuring works by artists Phuong Ngo, Marikit Santiago, Jayanto Tan, and Cindy Yuen Zhe Chen, centered on a 4-channel video and sound installation exploring diasporic experiences and cultural memory. Guests can sample free Southeast Asian dishes from the artists' cultural backgrounds, including Filipino ube sweets, Peranakan finger foods, Chinese comfort dishes, and Vietnamese snacks, while hearing the stories behind them. The evening includes a 7pm performance by Dr Nicholas Ng and Sydney Conservatorium of Music students on the erhu, blending contemporary and traditional sounds in response to the exhibition themes. Held on 16 April 2026 from 5:30pm to 8pm as part of the USU Food and Culture Fair, the event offers a festive atmosphere for cultural exchange. Accessibility features include wheelchair lifts, accessible bathrooms nearby, and guide dog welcome.
