The Growing Food for Wildlife Project offers recurring monthly working bees every third Saturday, starting April 18, 2026, through January 15, 2033, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Tedbury Creek bushland in Pennant Hills. Participants engage in hands-on activities like planting native species, weeding, watering, and harvesting food for sick, injured, and orphaned native animals in local wildlife rehabilitation. The sessions include educational talks on native gardening, local plants, and wildlife, led by expert rehabilitators such as Shaun Warden, fostering community connections and knowledge sharing. No prior experience is needed; attendees are encouraged to bring water, hat, sunscreen, and gloves. This community-driven initiative, partnered with Hornsby Shire Council and Hornsby Bush Care, addresses wildlife care challenges while promoting environmental stewardship.
